Okay this one had allll the feels. Blake came to me wanting to plan a surprise proposal for Lindsay and lemme tell you — this man went all out. They’re high school sweethearts, together for years, and Tahoe has always meant a lot to the two of them. So when he decided it was time, there was really only one place that made sense.
Lake Tahoe. Specifically, Edgewood Tahoe Resort.

How Blake and I connected
Blake had another photographer booked and locked in, all the deets sorted and then she had to step away unexpectedly for a family reason. Totally no one’s fault, but now here’s Blake with a proposal on the horizon and suddenly back at square one. Which is defs stressful when you’re trying to pull off the biggest surprise of your life.
He came to me a little nervous, a little stressed, not exactly thrilled that he was starting over. But starting over doesn’t have to be a whole thing. We hopped on the phone, I got him sorted, and from there? He could actually breathe again.
You can’t just propose at Edgewood, btw
Here’s something worth knowing if you’ve got Edgewood dreams: you cannot just roll up and pop the question with a photographer trailing behind you.
Edgewood is a whole vibe. It’s the resort that hosts the big celebrity golf tournament every summer, complimentary valet, the whole hoity-toity nine yards. To propose there with a photographer, you have to go through their events team, and your photographer needs a press pass and be vetted by the Edgewood team to even be allowed on property working.
Good news for you: I’m a known and preferred vendor with Edgewood now, so all of that? Handled. Blake didn’t have to stress a single logistic — I coordinated straight with Edgewood’s events coordinator, which meant he got to just think about Lindsay and nothing else.
Planning the biggest surprise in their relationship so far
Lindsay had zero idea. None. And Blake, bless him, built a whole cover story to keep it that way. The trip was disguised as a family birthday celebration, so Lindsay thought she was just getting all dressed up for a nice group dinner with everyone. Little did she know.
Blake told her he wanted to show her around Edgewood before dinner. So there they are, all dressed for dinner, her with no clue, walking down toward the beach. And that’s where he asked. No big flashy setup, no production, nothing staged. Just the two of them, the lake, and the question. Exactly the natural, candid, romantic thing Blake told me he wanted from day one.
Ok so maybe a little set up because I made her bouquet
Nothing quite seals in a proposal that a bouquet for your person and putting together bouquets is one of my favorite hobbies (lowkey becoming a florist is in the ten year plan if I have any say).
Florals are one of my favorite ways to make a moment feel extra, and there’s just something about having fresh flowers in hand when it happens. Plus the bonus of me being the florist, it’s one less vendor for Blake to chase down AND it keeps the surprise for Lindsay because it’s not like he had to run around to get florals before the moment.

Being your proposal logistics person is something I love doing for my clients
Real talk, the logistics are where a surprise proposal lives or dies. The biggest risk is something tipping off the person getting proposed to — a text, a weird phone call, you checking in with your photographer at the worst possible moment. So Blake and I set the whole thing up so he never had to contact me on the day at all. I had his location, we had a timeline in place and I was there early just incase timing changed. He didn’t have to constantly have his phone out checking in with me, so there wasn’t anything that could’ve made Lindsay go “wait… what’s going on?”
And then?? They got engaged, Lindsay was absolutely glowing, and these two got to stay the night in one of Edgewood’s lakefront rooms and celebrate just the two of them before meeting back up with family. Plus they had next-day sneaks waiting for them — because reliving it while it’s still fresh and you’re still floating is the BEST.
Dreaming up your own proposal at Edgewood Tahoe Resort?
If you’re thinking about popping the question somewhere as ridiculous-in-the-best-way as Edgewood, or anywhere around Tahoe, let’s chat. Between the access, the coordinating, and yes even the flowers, there’s a lot that goes into a proposal like this, and it’s genuinely my favorite kind of thing to take on with you. Inquire and let’s make it happen.
