I had the absolute joy of working with Amber and Hailey, the cutest couple who are gearing up for their November Spring 2025 Wedding.

Engagements are more than just a “pictures before the big day” kind of thing. They are an opportunity to capture the genuine joy and connection between a couple. 

Early Wedding Planning Bliss

Amber and Hailey began their wedding planning journey with me three months ago, even though their big day is still a year away.

The fact that I could meet them early in the process allowed us to establish a connection and work towards creating the perfect wedding photos.

Living in Georgia, the couple had the challenge of planning a wedding remotely in Colfax, just over Donner Pass from Reno/Tahoe. Despite the distance, they were so excited and were absolutely committed to making their wedding day special.

Engagements at Donner Lake in Truckee

During these engagements at Donner Lake, Hailey’s mom joined us.

She provided not just support but also pointed out the couple’s happiness. Having a family member there added to the experience in such an incredible way.

Donner Lake was freezing and pelted us with icy winds. Amber and Hailey were honestly such troopers. Despite the chilly weather, they created a magical atmosphere. The natural beauty of the lake provided a stunning backdrop for their photos, capturing the essence of their relationship.

Although she is a bit shy, Hailey was able to open up during this shoot and truly let her emotions flow in correspondence with Amber!

As we wrapped up the shoot at Donner Lake, moving from scenic views to public docks and sandy beaches, we laughed and experienced pure mountain magic!
