Sunshine and Ashlyn’s LGBTQ+ Lake Tahoe Proposal reminded me why I do what I do.

Yes, I get the chance to capture beautiful photos.
But, it really is so much more than that!

I get to be a part of making a couple’s memories tangible.

And that? That is truly everything to me!

Setting the Stage for Sunshine + Ashlyn’s LGBTQ+ Lake Tahoe Proposal

After six beautiful years of being together, these lovers knew that it was time to take their relationship to the next level.

Sunshine, the mastermind behind this LGBTQ+ Lake Tahoe Proposal, reached out to me with a dream vision. Immediately, I knew that I needed to help her bring it to life.

The best place to stage it?!

Well, the shores of Lake Tahoe, baby. OF. COURSE.

Sunshine had artfully crafted a surprise for Ashlyn, presenting it as a “cute little date.” 

With their anniversary around the corner, she had planned a styled setup for them. It was complete with cozy blankets, soft pillows, and some champagne.

Picture a dreamy picnic.

Will She Say “YES” to this LGBTQ+ Lake Tahoe Proposal?

As the pieces fell into place, the realization dawned on Ashlyn.

Since I am here to tell the tale of their proposal, she obviously said, “YES!”

Capturing this moment was an absolute privilege. Sunshine and Ashlyn radiated a true love both inside and out.

Following the proposal, the couple was gifted with a quiet beach, a luxury that tourists of Lake Tahoe don’t always grant! They were able to breathe in the intimacy of what had just happened as the waves crashed on the shore.

Capturing True Love + Embracing the Journey as an LGBTQ+ Couple

Leading up to their proposal, Sunshine had expressed concerns about previous photos (from other photographers) that didn’t capture the essence of their relationship.

As an LGBTQ+ couple, they wanted their love to shine through authentically.

Being an LGBTQ-friendly photographer is important to me. It is always my could to create images that reflect a couple’s love, no matter their sexual orientation.

Seeing them comfortable and happy in front of the camera was incredibly rewarding. Their joy and comfort resonated deeply with me, underscoring the importance of creating a space where every couple can be themselves without hesitation.

In a world that isn’t always accepting, the safe space we cultivated became one of love and understanding. Sunshine and Ashlyn’s story is a testament to the strength of their connection and the power of love that transcends all boundaries.

Their journey has only just begun, and I’m honored to have played a part in this beautiful chapter.
