In the first part of this series, we talked about the world of desktop favorites for photo editing (read that HERE if you haven’t yet). Now, let’s shift our focus to the apps and web-based platforms that play a huge role in managing my photography business daily

5 Platforms I Use When Managing My Business

ONE | Canva

From crafting pricing guides to designing Instagram carousel layouts, Canva is my go-to design haven. Its user-friendly interface makes it the backbone of all my marketing materials. Think of it as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop simplified for anyone.

*Bonus Tip:* Pine Tools, a game-changer for slicing long carousel images created in Canva for Instagram.

TWO | Pic-Time

Pic-Time is my praised gallery service, and I love it.

It offers a one-stop solution for uploading high-resolution and low-resolution photos for clients, creating engaging slideshows, curating images for blogs, and even hosting a store for clients’ printing needs.

THREE | UNUM

Ever wondered how photographers maintain such aesthetically pleasing Instagram feeds? UNUM is the answer.

While I schedule posts on Instagram, UNUM helps me plan the visual flow of my feed. Upgrade to the pro version for AI features that assist in caption writing and suggest hashtags for your posts.

FOUR | SCRL

For Instagram carousel post layouts, SCRL steps in. It’s the go-to app for on-the-go creativity with a plethora of premade templates for both posts and stories. SCRL was the game-changer that allowed me to turn a landscape image into two portrait images seamlessly. And the best part? It’s free, though premium options are available.

FIVE | Sun Seeker

Enter Sun Seeker, an app that literally maps the sun.

This tool becomes indispensable during location scouting or capturing moments on a wedding day. In “3D view,” using your phone’s camera, you can project a map and track the sun’s location throughout the day. Change the date to plan shoots for different seasons, making it a game-changer for suggesting shoot times and helping wedding couples plan their day effectively.

In the crazy world of photography business management, these apps and platforms are my absolute go-to’s.

From design and gallery curation to Instagram planning and mapping the damn sun, each plays a major role in elevating my business.

Stay tuned for more insights and recommendations in the next part of our series!
